Paul Levinsohn is currently the Managing Partner of the New York City Regional Center (“NYCRC”).  The NYCRC was designated by the federal government to secure foreign investment for the four largest boroughs of New York City: Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.  The NYCRC raises and invests foreign capital in real estate development projects throughout New York City with the goal of creating jobs in areas of high unemployment.

Mr. Levinsohn’s is an attorney with a background in real estate and has experience obtaining financing for a wide range of investments. Mr. Levinsohn acquired more than 200 commercial retail properties over the past five years.

In addition to real estate,Paul Levinsohn has been involved in numerous private equity transactions. In 2004, he and a team of investors purchased and privatized one of the largest convenience store and gas station chains in the northeast. The company operates 290 stores and was previously listed on the American Stock Exchange. Mr. Levinsohn sold his position in the company in 2008.

Recently, Paul and his investment team purchased the assets to a New England-based nutritional supplement company that sell its products to major retail outlets like Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS and Vitamin Shoppe.

In addition to his career in law, business and real estate, Mr. Levinsohn has been involved in public service. He was appointed Chief Counsel to the Governor of New Jersey in 2002 where he managed a staff of twenty-one attorneys and coordinated all legal operations for the Governor’s Office. Between 1995 and 1997, Mr. Levinsohn served as a clerk for Judge Anne E. Thompson, U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Paul also served as a charter corps member of Teach for America, a nationwide teacher corps program that supplies teachers to rural and inner city schools. Before entering law school, Paul taught high-school American History in Warren County, North Carolina.

Paul Levinsohn’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree, J.D. and M.A. (political science) from Duke University. While at Duke, Paul was a member of the Duke Law Journal, and was appointed to a three-year term to the University Board of Trustees.
